Survivor Stories: Arts For Awareness

CW: Sexual Violence

“I was sexually assaulted at a house party my senior year of high school, being too incapacitated to know what was happening or to stop it. During my freshman year at university I experienced sexual violence, being too scared to say anything or leave the relationship fast enough. I didn’t report either incident, not wanting my name to get out there and non wanting the boys to come after me for getting them in trouble. My hope is that one day girls and women will no longer feel silenced, and that we will be able to go to parties and foster relationships without fearing for our safety. Until that day, I will look out for other girls and women, because we are too young to face these demons, especially alone.”
