Ally Heyman is shattering the silence of sexual assault through her voice by telling her story so that other young women and men will understand that by surviving they are strong, they are still here and there is no shame. Ally is a teenage survivor of sexual assault perpetrated by a trusted family friend, her coach and personal trainer while she was still in high school. She was inspired to make her voice a national force for change through Promoting Awareness Victim Empowerment (PAVE) after hearing Chessy Prout, another PAVE Ambassador and teenage survivor, tell her story on the Today show in August 2016. Through her strong family support system Ally is telling her story to as many survivors as possible as part of her own healing. Ally’s bravery and strength comes from her belief that by helping others she is healing herself and letting other survivors know they are not alone. Ally is now in college and continuing to make a positive impact.
